Protests Erupt in 40 Spanish Cities on the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People

Spain witnessed a wide wave of pro-Palestinian demonstrations across more than 40 cities, including Madrid and Barcelona, marking the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People on 29 November.

Hawzah News Agency- Thousands of Spaniards took to the streets and public squares on Saturday evening, raising banners condemning the Israeli assault and expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people. Madrid and Barcelona saw the largest and most vibrant demonstrations.

Protesters held signs reading “Stop the genocide” and “Total ban on arms sales to Israel'', while chanting slogans such as “Free Palestine” and “Israel is a killer''.

In a joint statement, Spanish civil society organizations supporting Palestine condemned what they described as “colonialism, military occupation, apartheid, and 78 years of ongoing ethnic cleansing''. They also denounced Israel’s continued violations of the ceasefire in Gaza and its blockade on humanitarian aid.

The organizations called on governments around the world to sever diplomatic, economic, sports, cultural, and academic ties with Israel, impose international sanctions, and support ongoing legal proceedings at the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court.
